Brannan Construction Company is looking for an Experienced Excavator Operator to join our growing team. To be successful in this role, you’ll need experience in Heavy Civil Construction: Mainline Water, Sewer, and Storm Drain.
To help us achieve that mission, we are looking for an experienced “Loader Operator”.
Position Summary:
Operate machine(s) daily in a safe and efficient manner. This position will support the crew by ensuring the instillation of water, sewer, and storm pipe is done safely, and to the customer’s and Brannan’s expectations. The ideal candidate will be experienced, bring great energy and common sense to the job, will have the ability to work independently and work well with others. Perform daily pre/post operating checks on equipment and report any malfunctions to the Foreman. Maintain production of the job and communicate efficiently with Foreman and other crew members. Must understand the responsibilities of an Operator. Maintain proper knowledge of machine use; digging in, and around utilities, and all types of utility locate requirements

Qualifications
Qualifications:
1 – 3 years previous experience as a Loader Operator
Experience digging safely in roadways and around existing underground utilities and trench boxes.
Must possess skill, coordination and awareness to operate heavy equipment in a safe manner with precision and efficiency.
Able to slope or bench an excavation.
Able to read and understand cut and fill stakes in order to align and position equipment appropriately.
Willingness to operate heavy equipment for long periods with continuous attention to detail and safety.
Track record of performing similar tasks safely and accurately
Ability to take direction from the Foreman and provide support to peers
Maintain dependability and responsibility to be at work on time
Must have flexibility to work nights and weekends
Physical Requirements:
Standing – 6 to 8 hours daily
Walking – 6 to 8 hours daily
Bending/Stooping – 6 to 8 hours daily
Repetitive Movement (shoveling/sweeping) – 6 to 8 hours daily
Lifting (weights up to 100 lbs.) – Occasionally
Lift and Carry (50/60 lbs. for 20 feet) – Regularly
Push / Pull – 6 to 8 hours daily
Responsibilities
Functional Responsibilities:
Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company’s operating safety policies and procedures
Utilize Loader to safely, efficiently, and productively excavate, move and grade soils in accordance with the defined parameters
Read and interpret grade stakes, site markings, maps and blueprints or drawings to move soil to defined specifications
Daily preventative maintenance on equipment (Check Fluids, Grease, and Clean) to ensure equipment is in good working order at all times.
Coordinating and verifying utility mark-out and clearance; traffic control; excavation/trench safety; and related aspects of underground wet utility repairs and construction;
Observe and obey all applicable safety requirements.
Maintain consistent communication among field crew members by use of hand-signals or radio to align and position heavy equipment properly.
Confirm necessary precautions have been taken to ensure no conflicts exist with both above and below ground utilities.
Has a “can-do” attitude when job-site difficulties arise.
