Christine Barnes is the Executive Director of the Colorado Chapter of NUCA and can be contacted at christine.barnes@nuca-colorado.com NUCA of Colorado ended 2022 with a bang in the form of a Holiday Installation Party where 2022 achievements were discussed, 2023 plans were announced, and the 2023 Board of Directors were installed and welcomed. This gala took place at the 17th by Magnolia Ballroom where fellow NUCAns packed the house. NUCA National CEO, Doug Carlson installed the 2023 Officers and Directors. He also gave a national update and commented on the nearly 20% growth that Colorado has had in the last year with its membership. This in turn contributed to the 90% retention and growth goals of NUCA National President, Ryan Kinning. NUCA of Colorado welcomed a new President for 2023 along with a new slate of officers and directors. NUCA of Colorado is a member of BJ4C (Building Jobs 4 Colorado) and lobbyist Jenn Penn of Dome Strategies stated, “Democrats in the Senate and House emphasized affordability (particularly with regard to the housing shortage), water issues, and gun control as key issues of focus this session.” NUCA of Colorado will be monitoring any bills related to the industry and weighing in on key issues that effect your business. The first quarter of 2023 brings with it a reminder of Safety in the form of a lunch and learn on “Your Rights and Responsibilities During and OSHA Inspection” where Chad Vivian, Area Director, OSHA and Pat Miller, Attorney, Sherman & Howard will present on Friday, January 13th. We also have a great Top Golf networking mixer in Colorado Springs on Wednesday February 15th where you can mix and mingle with your southern Colorado industry peers while taking advantage of a winter golf opportunity. Our Scholarship Cornhole Tournament is slated for Wednesday, March 22nd. NUCA of Colorado was able to award five scholarships to member dependents in 2022 and hopes to award even more in 2023. Finally, our National Association will be holding their one-day Annual Meeting and Gala on March 13th in Las Vegas prior to the start of CONEXPO/CONAGG.
