The work was completed at night for the 150-day contract, which Brannan completed in 130 days. Additional project support was provided by Alpha Milling and Colorado Barricade and the project would not have run as smoothly without their contributions. SH 121 Wadsworth CATEGORY - Urban Highway New or Reconstruction Contractor: Kiewit Infrastructure Owner/Agency: CDOT Region 1 Engineer: RS&H Designer: Western Summit The $757M Central 70 project is reconstructing a 10-mile stretch between Brighton Boulevard and Chambers Road. The scope of this massive project included adding one new Express Lane in each direction, removing the 57-year old viaduct, lowering the interstate between Brighton and Colorado Boulevards and placement of a 4-acre park over a portion of the lowered interstate. Work began in 2018 and the center segment was substantially complete in September 2021. The center portion of the project included 121,000 tons of asphalt pavement.
